League and the Upcoming Patch 1.08

Hi Guys,

Please do not patch your 1.07 install that you use in the League with Patch 1.08. The league will remain patched to 1.07 for a few reasons:

1. We need time to ensure Secure Falcon has no problems with the Patch.
2. We need to ensure that Patch 1.08 is stable enough to use in the
League.
3. So we can plan and set a date so all pilots have time to get it downloaded and installed and get the bugs worked out before we start flying it. In other words there is enough time so that all pilots have it and are ready to fly with it at the same time.

Please specify how much time is enough. Many of us are part of virtual squadrons so there is an issue if we keep the 1.07 for a long time.

Make a second install for the 1.08 patch.

You should have a vanilla install for league play and your tweaked install for other flying.

So the path for your vanilla (league standards) install should be something like:

C:\Program Files\Lead Pursuit\Battlefield Operations\Falcon 4.0 (or what ever the default path is)

Then your tweaked (latest patches and 3rd party files) install:

C:\Program Files\Lead Pursuit\tweaked\Battlefiled Operations\Falcon 4.0

Then you can create a shortcut to each executable on your desktop.

Not being intended as a criticism of LP, but if you recall what happened with Patch 1.0.6, you will understand why the Admin have asked for this.

This sort of thing happens with software updates in general.

yup...I haven't had a chance to download 1.08 yet, but I would encourage everyone to post their observations and\or bugs they find regarding 1.08, so that the league can get as much info as possible before making a decision on whether to switch or not.

It wasn't until after all these comments that we realised that BUFF was pre-empting things.
