AIM 9P Exploding on the rail

Postby Nap » Wed Jul 04, 2007 6:49 am

Hey guys,

Have any of you experienced this problem and have it recorded on ACMI? I would like to submit it to Ed_1 from Lead Pursuit so he can see what the problem is.

Cheers,
Nap

i think it happened to people too many time
it doesn't make sense that it will explode under the F16 wing so many times, even if its old missile.
if it would explode so many times under the wing , no one will risk a 30M$ jet with it. - its NOT suppose to explode like that in real life

Happened to me in my match against Burnout. Have it on ACMI if you want it still.

Hi Hornet,

Sure, send it along, email. Please indicate roughly the time when it happened.

There is a thread at Frugals where this is being discussed, and I will post there so LP get the idea that this is happening somewhat frequently.
The first post on this topic is here: http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/show ... tcount=135

It happened to me too 3-4 times....it is supposed that the explosive mechanism of the missile is activating a sec after the launch. If i shoot the missile in a close distance relative to the target ...there I goooo

Hi guys,

Can you please send me ACMI's of this happening. They are needed to demonstrate the problem with some factual info rather than explanations that can be misunderstood.

Cheers,
Nap

I have seen this also. But not just in AF but all versions of Falcon. It will happen almost 100% of the time if the target is close and you are pulling 5 g's or more.

The same thing has happened to me in 2 games...both times I was close range, however, I have only seen it happen since the 1.12 patch came out.

Hey guys,

I've submitted 3 ACMI's on Frugals and a few other vPilots have brought it up there as well. However LP's responses haven't been conclusive on the issue.

I am of the inclination to consider it a 'bug' until such time as LP state otherwise. As long as it's a 'bug', any engagements where this happens should be re-flown.

What do you all think?

Cheers,
Nap
