Hi Kcsoccer,

I'm available approx. 2300 GMT and later. More flexible on weekends. I'm GMT-6 (central time). Tell me what's good for you.

Good luck,

Why was this voided? Did the rules change?

I thought if the opponent doesn't respond then it's defaulted as a win....did I miss something?

Hi KV,

In the situation you were in, a Default was not mandatory, it was an option.

Kcsoccer has not flown a match since he's joined the ladder. I sent him a PM to let him know of the challenge less than 24 hours ago, but haven't had a reply yet. I've now sent him an email to follow it up.

So, having said the above, the Admin's assessment is that a void is appropriate. If he was a regular visitor here, we might have made a different decision, but that would have been determined after finding out the reason for his lack of response.

Cheers,
Nap

Ok, I thought I had seen the rules posted. Either I can't find them, or they were removed. I'm assuming you mean that Kcsoccer hasn't flown a match since the ladder has changed administration. I sent him the challenge via all the same methods available with no impact no idea on his whereabouts or if he intends to continue to compete.

In this situation, he's taking up a position that causes the lower portions of the ladder to become stagnant, and impede progress of active pilots, or those that wish to be active.

Without a default, then the pilots that wish to be active are forced to stay there without being able to advance, because inactive pilots impede progress.

However, I will make another challenge and hopefully will not have to ride it out. Additionally, does the administration have any guidlines posted somewhere that governs the factors for defaults and voids so that the rest of the pilots can see, or is this still a work in progress?

Either way, it matters not. Seeking clarification here.

Thanks in advance,

Hi KV,

Understand.

You will notice that I've already put Kcsoccer on leave, so he won't be impeding any further challenges.

I am organising to contact all the vPilots who haven't flown a match since the new start to determine what their intentions are regarding the ladder. To avoid a repeat of this. (And I know you've already had a few of them.)

Also, the rules are nearly ready. I will have an annoucement about them during this weekend. As the rules stand, there are no guidelines concerning when a default should be taken instead of a void. That is why I explained the stance we took in your case. I agree that this could use some clarification, since it only states that a vPilot has the option to ask.

Cheers,
Nap.
